Another fashion film, please!

Director RJ Cutler, who brought us "The September Issue" is bringing to life another fashion movie! This time its a film adaptation of Lee Tulloch's 1989 novel called "Fabulous Nobodies".  How can we not relate when the main character, Reality Nirvana Tuttle's, motto is "Life is cruel to people who aren't fabulous"? Nobodies rejoice!!

I wont know what to expect- and it looks like they are still trying to cast the main role. But where it will compare to my favorite "fashion" movies (ie favorite wardrobe movies) below, we will have to see...

- "The September Issue"
- "The Devil Wears Prada"
- "Clueless"
- "Midnight in Paris"
- "Sliding Doors"
- "L'Arnacoeur
- "Priceless"

This year is the 50th anniversary for the CFDA and they have just released their nominees this week for the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards (ie the Oscars of American fashion design). I'm excited to say that MKA Olsen's line, The Row, is a contender for the top prize, Womenswear designer of the year. They are up against Proenza Schouler and March Jacobs. Johnny Depp is getting the style icon award, and here are the rest of the nominees:

The Chanel Jacket Revisited

My little black jacket from Fall 08 RTW

I'm in awe of this pattern cutter/seamstress who can look at a hand drawing and whip up such an exquisite coat from beginning to end. Of course, it takes longer than 2:01 minutes. Definitely if you covet these jackets as much as I do, watch this video. Chanel has posted on their website for the launch of a book called "The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfield"

"The Chanel jacket has become the symbol of a certain elegance, feminine, with an air of nonchalance, classic and timeless, that is of all times,” said Karl Lagerfeld

I do concur!
